DRINK SPIKING Drink spiking simply means to put something extra into your drink without you knowing it. The most common types of drugs used to “spike” a drink are Rohypnol, GHB, Ketamine, and Alcohol. The idea is to drug you so that you are unable to resist. Here are a few tips to party safely: 1. Never drink anything that has been left unattended. If your drink leaves your sight, even for a moment, get a new one. If possible you should even watch the bartender as your drink is being made. 2. Don’t accept drinks from strangers. If you do choose to let someone pay for your drink, go with him and order it. Get it directly from the server/bartender. 3. If you have a “funny feeling” and think you have been drugged, you should alert a trusted friend, the venue staff, security, or the authorities immediately. JOGGING SAFETY Run against the traffic, not with it. Stay alert Vary your route. If you run the same route every day then anyone who has been following you or watching you knows where and when you will be alone and vulnerable. If you are out of town ask at the front desk of your motel for a safe running route. If you are out of the country, ask about safety and always respect local customs and dress.

PARKING LOT SAFETY Be aware of your surroundings. Park near a light, even if it’s not dark now it might be dark when you come out. You can't hear someone coming up behind you. Always have your keys in your pocket as you approach your door. Don't be that girl that has to fish for her keys! Carry some sort of "weapon" on your keychain. Whether it is a whistle, flashlight, personal alarm, it is ready to use! If you choose to carry pepper spray practice how to use it. First using a weapon in the time of a crisis is not the time to learn. Always open doors using your shoulder, look who is behind you. Never have your back to anyone! Never stand in the back of the elevator trapping yourself. Stand near the buttons where you are in control. Try to consolidate your bags into one big bag. Always keep your hands free to use. ...
